Procurement Executive

Key accountabilities:

  • Preparing plans for the purchase of ingredients, packaging, equipment, services, and supplies.
  • Responsible to source, negotiate and purchase materials from both local and oversea vendors
  • Evaluate vendor’s quotation to ensure that they are in line with the technical and commercial specifications required for the project
  • Advise internal and external on issues regarding purchasing Terms & Conditions
  • In charge of daily operational purchasing needs such as planning, issuing and following up on
  • Purchase Orders delivery and shipment schedules
  • Resolve supply, quality, service and invoicing issues with vendors
  • Assist in FSSC 2200 Annual Performance Review for vendors
  • Evaluate supplier performance based on quality standards, delivery time & best prices
  • Ensure all the criteria are met according to the organizational requirements and expectation
  • Responsible for implementing internal procurement strategies to cater to high delivery and short lead time requirements
  • Undertake any other ad-hoc duties as assigned
  • Following and enforcing the company’s procurement policies and procedures.
  • Reviewing, comparing, analyzing, and approving products and services to be purchased.
  • Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records.
  • Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, relevant documents, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
  • Maintaining good supplier relations and negotiating contracts.
  • Researching and evaluating prospective suppliers.
  • Preparing budgets, cost analyses, and reports.
  • Supplier rating
  • Supplier complaint management
  • Liaising with key company employees to determine their product and service needs
  • Identifying areas for improvement to continually drive performance and business results
  • Managing overall direction, coordination and evaluation of for the organization
  • Developing strong relationships with business stakeholders and strategic supply partners to improve business
  • Creating policies and procedures for risk management and mitigation.

Essential Skills:

  • Degree or Diploma in Procurement, accounting, business management or a similar field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience as a procurement officer or in a similar position.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Good analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Supervisory and management experience.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems.
  • Leadership Skill: Skilled in directing and coordinating with another department
  • Time-management Skill: sourcing and buying on time
  • Decision-making Skill: price negotiation
  • Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
  • Predicting, managing, and mitigating risk, the approach to procurement risk management
  • Should also have global awareness, good business ethics, and an understanding of legal contracts and good practices.
