Head of Technical

Key accountabilities:

  • Offer unique value-added products to customers
  • Identify market opportunities and closely follow up Technical sales and marketing developments with key account Managers
  • To carry out product performance studies and marketing research aimed at exploiting such opportunities.
  • To have continues liaison with current and potential customers and to offer effective and appropriate and lead technical advisory service thereby establishing good business relationship.
  • Enhance customer value through New product line, new product plan for customers and help in technical know-how, process, recipe and standardization.
  • Provide technical know-how to customer and technical trainings on Oils & Fats, Bakery and confectionery solutions.
  • Monitor and analyse the company’s competitiveness in the market and to take effective measure to ensure competitiveness of our product ingredient.
  • Lead the team of R&D professionals and train them for customer technical services, product development process and stream line production process etc.
  • Work upon company initiatives and improve as a dynamic quality conscious innovative and reliable supplier of food ingredient and its ability and willingness to provide adequate technical advisory and back up service.
  • Ensuring project capabilities and product uniqueness is created through systematic process approach to meet customer requirement by its ‘Right First Time’ approach.
  • Facing challenging technical meetings with enterprise and corporate customers for technical and innovative solutions and propose and present Innovative solutions in effective manner for approval and convincing technical pitch.
  • Leading R&D Technical projects tracking, documentation and launch on time.
  • Update management on business process, operating plan, financial model and profitability
  • Expand the relationships with existing customers by continuously proposing solutions that meet their objectives
  • Ensure the correct products and services are delivered to customers in a timely manner
  • Serve as the link of communication between key customers and internal teams
  • Resolve any issues and problems faced by customers and deal with complaints to maintain trust
  • Play an integral part in generating new sales that will turn into long-lasting relationships
  • Prepare regular reports of progress and forecasts to internal and external stakeholders using key account metrics.
  • Meets assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned accounts
  • Maintains high customer satisfaction ratings through Customer survey
  • Acquire a thorough understanding of key customer needs and requirements
  • Develop trust relationships with a portfolio of major clients to ensure they do not turn to competition
  • Coordinate with administration, commercial and factory departments to ensure timely orders, and smooth function of action in the system.
  • Leading Technical, R&D team, R&D development plan and Provide technical services to new clients and existing clients/potential buyers of our food ingredients: –
  • Lead the R&D team and schedule target products and solutions to carry out collaborative studies with other research establishments and work closely with MPOB, MPOC
  • Lead to carry joint and collaborative work with enterprise companies and other establishments that is beneficial to the company in utilization a value-added solution with developing a new market.
    1. a) To make use of our mini pilot plant for the research.
    2. b) Carry out joint trials in R&D lab for effective results and collaboration

    c)To make use of initial research results and carry out further work in our mini pilot plant.

    1. d) to make faster development and trials work with customers and provide solutions
    • To establish project and production capabilities based on research, pilot plant trial and customer approval
    1. a) New investment of R&D and plant facilities, Layout design, costing and return of investment
    2. b) plant efficiency and cost reduction
    • To lead the team to establish quality system and apply for certification FSSC2200, HACCP, HALAL and KOSHER, FOOD SAFETY
    • New product launch with design team on website, brochures, magazines etc Launch activities, prototypes, product demo etc.
    • Project Tracker and product development Stage & Gate process simplify Product profiles, and follow for all new developments.
    • Extension of product lines and categories with attention on Bakery, Confectionery and Oils & Fats category development.
    • Lead Project management and Tech service activities for Worldwide and facing customers for Technical meetings, exhibition and product offerings.

Supplementary Function:

  • Lead the team and establish a system to design product profiles, specifications, product launch activities for new products and solutions.
  • Lead the activities of OEM and provide operating procedures are to be set as a guideline for control.
  • To establish time effective service to Sales and marketing on technical enquiries and sample requested.
  • Technical follow up with customers to assist marketing on timely reply on technical enquiries, solutions, projects and trials follow-ups for innovative solutions and to lead technical discussions with buyers.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

  • Proven experience as Head of Sales and Marketing
  • Experience in sales and providing solutions based on customer needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationships with professionals of all organizational levels
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability in problem-solving, negotiation and Leadership quality
  • BSc/BA/MSc/PhD in Food Science or Food Technology at least 12-15 years of track record similar experiences
