Assistant Manager, GL SA & EMEA

Key accountabilities:

  • Key support to FM & FC in managing the GL team to perform financial reporting for Liner South Asia, Europe and Middle East Countries:
  • To ensure that Corporate Reporting requirements on period close, quarterly package and year end external audit package are submitted on time.
  • To supervise the team to provide quality support based on respective process owners requirements, including setting up of new cost centres, setting up of allocation tables in SAP, clearing of ICO and all expects of regional and corporate reporting queries and requirements.
  • Promote awareness and full compliance of Group’s Policy Operating Manuals (POMs).
  • Support centre’s projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure monthly period close process is in line with the timeline set by corporate.
  • Provide monthly accounting and performance reports to respective process owners and highlight key variances.
  • To maintain minimum internal and external audit issues.
  • Ensure budgetary and forecast process are in line with the requirements of the respective centres and corporate.
  • Assist in internal audits as and when applicable.
  • To comply with best practices and enhance corporate governance for entities supported.
  • Ensure process documentations are updated for all processes.
  • Ensure compliance of Period Close process and negative assurance on quarterly basis.
  • Ensure corporate reporting requirements are fulfilled in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure timely submission of tax forecast and estimation to minimize tax exposure and penalties.
  • Monitor, guide, motivate and provide advice to the analysts in preparing the journal entries and monthly schedules/reports
  • Assist FM & FC to review the monthly journal entries and all schedules and reports are prepared accurately and timely by the analysts.
  • Assist FM & FC to implement process standardization and improvement including enhanced reporting formats and shorter reporting time used.
  • Ensure accruals are properly justified and correctly posted.
  • Perform analytical review of P&L and balance sheet, trend analysis for Europe entities.
  • Back up team member on daily task as when required.
  • Ability to prepare quality ad-hoc reporting and handle ad-hoc task satisfactorily and independently with good technical knowledge.
  • Assist to clear unreconciled items from the balance sheet.
  • To supervise transactions processed and reports generated by Analyst for Nordics task
  • Ability to liaise independently with stakeholders on the issues raised.
  • Ability to expand the job task for additional/new task for Europe or Middle East region.
  • To review all bank reconciliation for EMEA periodically and work closely with Bank Reconciliation analyst and stakeholders to ensure all is prepared timely and accurately.
  • Lead the team to achieve the SLA/KPIs 24. Undertake adhoc projects when required

Essential Skills:

  • Education: Degree holder – Bachelor Degree in Accountancy / Finance or holder of a recognized professional qualification (e.g. CPA, ACCA & etc.)
  • Experiences: Minimum 6 years of related working experience in GL, preferably with minimum 2 year of supervisory role
  • Skills Sets: Working experience in Shared Service Center would be added
  • Advantage: Knowledge in SAP – Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
  • Possess strong supervisory, organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask. · Good attention to details & analytical mindset
